Surface high pressure will build north of the area today following the cold frontal passage while an upper ridge builds over the Gulf of Mexico. A cool and dry north-northeast flow will bring below normal temperatures to the local area today and Monday with values in the mid 80s toward the I-75 corridor while closer to the coast breezy onshore flow will be in the low/mid 70s. A few afternoon cumulus is possible each day, but overall mostly clear skies will prevail.
Tuesday model discrepancies are noted with the MAM12/MET advertising a chance of afternoon convection toward the I-75 corridor while the MAV/GRS and SREF keep rain chances generally below 10%. The NAM indicates an increase in low/mid level moisture from the north-northeast as the 850mb ridge brides a weak boundary to our north and shifts it southward by Tuesday afternoon. Will advertise a very low chance of afternoon thunderstorm activity toward our west-southwest zones since the scenario is possible.
Stacked low/mid level ridging positions directly over or just east of the area bringing increased subsidence to the area. Expect no rain, but an afternoon cumulus filed is possible. Temperatures will warm to near 90 well inland to near 80 coast with surface winds shifting east-southeast.
Temperatures will slowly modify as upper and mid level ridging strengthens over the area Thursday & Friday while slowly shifting eastward. By the weekend upper level flow becomes southwest while low level flow remains south-southeast. Given southwest flow aloft and surface convergence per the sea breezes, have advertised increased but still low rain chances by the weekend. Temperatures return to above normal values by the weekend with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s and mid in the mid to upper 60s.
