Today:: Sunny, with a high near 79. North wind between 10 and 14 mph.

Tonight: Clear, with a low around 46. North wind between 3 and 5 mph.

Hazardous weather outlook: Dry conditions will elevate the fire weather danger today across Inland northeast Florida counties.

Forecast Details: A very dry and cool air mass is over the forecast area with broad surface high pressure over Mississippi Valley area down into the southern Continental U.S.. A wide range in current temperatures due to the pressure gradient and drainage flow, with readings of upper 40s over inland southeast Georgia to near 60-65 southeast zones. Clear skies prevail over the area. Middle/upper level trough continues over the eastern U.S. but is shifting eastward. Regarding climate data, could see new record lows at Gainesville where they currently stand at 52 degree in 1987.

Over the short term the middle-upper trough will lift out of the northeastward U.S. while a middle level ridge axis moves to the Tennessee Valley. This will result in dry conditions and a general warming trend with clear to mostly clear skies. Both NAM and GFS show a surface trough pushing through the area late Thursday in association with a middle level shortwave but other than minor wind shifts. Temperatures today will make the middle-upper 70s to near 80 and chilly lows tonight and Thursday night will go down to the middle 40s to lower 50s.

Today's Pollen Levels: 6.6 Medium (on a scale to 12); Predominate Pollen: Ragweed, Grass and Chenopods.
